PBC 2026
PBC 2026 convenes at a pivotal moment for philanthropy. Across Asia and beyond, philanthropic organisations operate in an environment shaped by widening social needs, demographic change, climate risk and pressure on public resources. Meanwhile, new wealth and forms of capital are expanding possibilities for social impact. Asia-Pacific will see over US$5.8 trillion in intergenerational wealth transferred between 2023 and 2030, while meeting the region's Sustainable Development Goals by 2030 will require an estimated US$1.5 trillion each year. These developments raise expectations for philanthropy: to deploy resources effectively, test new models and support practical, inclusive and sustainable solutions.
This raises a central question: how can philanthropy translate ambition into impact while balancing experimentation, risk-taking and stewardship? As cross-sector partnerships and new approaches to capital gain traction, how can the sector become more catalytic, collaborative and connected to the communities it serves?
Marking its 10th anniversary, PBC 2026 adopts the theme "Leaping for Impact". Inspired by the Olympic values of excellence, friendship and respect, and the Paralympic values of courage, determination, inspiration and equality, the Forum will explore what philanthropy can learn from sport: discipline, focus, resilience, teamwork, performance management and continuous improvement.
As convener of PBC, The Hong Kong Jockey Club embodies the link between sport, entertainment and its charitable mission. At this Forum, sport is viewed more broadly: not only as inspiration, but as a driver of inclusion, shared purpose and global solidarity.
PBC 2026 will bring together leaders from philanthropy, sport, business, government, academia and the social sector to explore how philanthropy is evolving beyond traditional approaches. Discussions will address trends and challenges shaping philanthropy today, including cross-sector collaboration, systems change, new approaches to capital and the capabilities needed to deliver lasting outcomes. The Forum will also tackle key issues on the social impact agenda: health, well-being for older adults, urban poverty alleviation, arts and culture, youth development, climate resilience and inclusive employment.
As Asia emerges as a centre of philanthropic innovation, and Hong Kong bridges East and West, PBC 2026 will provide a platform for practical learning, new partnerships and deeper reflection on the future of impactful philanthropy.
