YANG Yang

Yang Yang made history by winning China's first-ever Winter Olympic gold medal. Throughout her sports career, she competed in three Winter Olympic Games, amassing two gold, two silver, and one bronze medals. With an extraordinary tally of 59 world championships, she is widely celebrated as a "Legend on Ice."

After her retirement from competitive sports, she extended her spirit to a broader global stage, deeply engaging in the governance of international sports organisations. She has served as a Member of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and a Council Member of the International Skating Union (ISU). Re-elected as the Vice President of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) in 2025, she contributes her professional expertise to driving global sports governance forward. In addition, she was appointed as a Goodwill Ambassador of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in 2023, leveraging her global influence to advocate for displaced people worldwide.

As a member of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), she remains actively dedicated to youth development and sports education. In the philanthropic sector, she founded the Champion Foundation to support youth sports enlightenment and career transitions for retired athletes. She also established the Feiyang Skating Centre, pioneering new pathways for the popularization of winter sports and talent cultivation.
